1. What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that eliminates the need for a physical SIM card. It allows you to store multiple profiles on one device, enabling dual SIM usage. It’s more secure as it can't be physically removed if your device is lost or stolen.
2. Which devices are compatible with eSIM?
- iPhone:
- iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16e, and newer
- Android:
- Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy S20+ series, and newer
- Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung Galaxy Flip, and newer
- Google Pixel 2 and newer
- Oppo Find X8, Oppo Find N3, and newer
- Xiaomi 13T and newer
- Honor Magic 4 Pro, Honor Magic V2, and newer
- Vivo V29, X90, and newer
More devices will be supported in the future.
3. Which plans are eligible for eSIM?
eSIM is available for Celcom Postpaid plans, including:
- CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G (including Family plans)
- Celcom MEGA Postpaid (including Family plans)
- Celcom XPAX Postpaid
- Celcom XP Lite
- Celcom First
- Celcom Legacy Mobile Postpaid (including Family plans)
- Celcom Corporate Individual plans
4. How can I get an eSIM?
You can request an eSIM at any CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube after signing up for a new plan, replacing your SIM, or switching from a physical SIM.
5. How do I activate my eSIM?
Step 1: Visit a CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube to get your eSIM QR code
Step 2: Open the Camera app and scan the QR code
Step 3: When the ‘Data Plan Detected’ notification appears, tap it
Step 4: Tap ‘Add Data Plan’.
Note: Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
6. Can I transfer my eSIM to another device or operating system?
No, eSIM profiles are non-transferable between devices or operating systems. If you switch devices, you must visit a CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube to request a new eSIM QR code.
7. What should I do if I lose my device?
Immediately call Celcom customer service to report the loss and visit a CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube to request a replacement eSIM.
8. What happens to my internet plan if I remove my eSIM profile?
Deleting your eSIM profile does not cancel your plan. You will need to visit a CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube to reactivate your eSIM or request a physical SIM replacement.
9. Can I switch from eSIM to a physical SIM?
Yes, you can switch from eSIM to a physical SIM by visiting a CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube and requesting a SIM replacement. A fee of RM10 will apply.
10. Can I use my eSIM while traveling internationally?
Yes, you can use your Celcom eSIM for international roaming. Simply set it as the primary SIM and activate roaming before traveling.
11. If I am traveling to Malaysia from abroad, can I download a local eSIM on Celcom’s network?
Yes, you can visit a CelcomDigi Store or Celcom bluecube to get a QR code. Then, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Camera app and scan your QR code
Step 2: When the 'Data Plan Detected' notification appears, tap it
Step 3: Tap 'Continue', at the bottom of the screen
Step 4: Tap 'Add Data Plan'
Step 5: Switch your data access to CelcomDigi.
