1. What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that eliminates the need for a physical SIM card. With eSIM, you can store multiple eSIMs on the same device and use two phone numbers at the same time. And it’s more secure - someone can’t remove the physical SIM card if your device is lost or stolen. In just a few simple steps, you are ready to make calls, send messages, and browse the web.

2. What are eSIM compatible devices?

Currently, eSIM is available for the following devices:

iPhone:

  • iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later support eSIM.

  • If your iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro model does not have a physical SIM tray (i.e purchased in the U.S.), you will have to activate it with an eSIM.

Android:

  • Samsung Galaxy Fold/ Samsung Galaxy S20 series or later support eSIM.

More devices will be made available in the future.

3. Which Celcom mobile plans are eligible for eSIM?
Selected Postpaid plans are eligible for eSIM except for Corporate Enterprise Postpaid plans, Home Wireless/Fibre plans and Prepaid plans. Eligible postpaid plans are as below:

  1. Celcom MEGA Postpaid plans (including Family)
  2. Celcom XPAX Postpaid plans

Step 2: When the 'Data Plan Detected' notification appears, click it

Step 3: Tap 'Continue', at the bottom of the screen

Step 4: Tap 'Add Data Plan'.

Note: Please ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi network to activate the eSIM. If you have an eSIM on iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro, you can choose to continue without Wi-Fi during the set-up process.

6. Can I transfer/switch my eSIM to other devices or operating system?

As a security feature, your eSIM profile is non-transferable/switchable between devices. If you would like to switch your mobile number to another device, please walk into your nearest Celcom bluecube and request a new eSIM QR code and profile via SIM replacement (change SIM).

7. How do I know if my iPhone is unlocked?

To check if your iPhone is unlocked, follow steps below:

Step 1: Go to 'Settings' > 'General' and tap 'About'

Step 2: Under Carrier Lock, you should see a message that says 'No SIM restrictions'. If you don't see that message, contact your carrier.

8. What if I lost my device?
If your iPhone with an active eSIM is lost or stolen, please follow these steps:

  • Immediately call Celcom customer service to report the loss. The mobile line will be in a call bar manual to prevent unauthorised usage.
  • Alternatively, you may visit Celcom bluecube to report the loss of your device and request for a replacement eSIM.

9. What happens to my data plan if I erase my eSIM?
If you deleted your eSIM, your data plan will not be cancelled. Please walk-in to Celcom bluecube to re-activate your e-SIM or to get a physical SIM

10. Can I still use my Celcom eSIM if I travel internationally?
You may change and set your eSIM card as the primary SIM and turn on the roaming data whenever you decide to use your eSIM during travel.

With dual SIM you can have two line to make and receive calls and to send and receive SMS/MMS. Depending on your device capability, with Dual SIM you can have both lines active and on standby mode. For iPhone XR, XS, XS Max or later, Dual SIM works with a combination of a primary nano-SIM and a secondary eSIM.
