General Information on IRBM e-Invoice

Modified on Tue, 1 Jul at 2:21 PM

In compliance with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) e-Invoice initiative, CelcomDigi will begin implementing e-Invoices on 1 July 2025.

Here’s what you need to know about e-Invoices:

1. What is an e-Invoice?

e-Invoicing is a digital solution that allows businesses to send requisite data electronically to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM). This is in line with the Government's focus to strengthen the digital services infrastructure and digitalize the tax administration. It is applicable to all persons undertaking commercial activities in Malaysia, including businesses engaged in the provision of goods and services.

To know more, please visit the IRBM e-Invoice microsite at e-Invoice | Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).

2. When will I start receiving an e-Invoice from CelcomDigi?

For our mass consumers, you can start requesting e-Invoices from our e-Invoice portal on 1 July 2025.

3. Do I need the e-Invoice?

You may need an e-Invoice for two reasons:

  • Personal tax relief (Form B/BE): IRBM has not mandated the use of e-Invoice for tax claims and deductions. Until the legislation is amended, you can continue to claim tax deductions using existing bills.
  • Company claims: Different companies may have their own policies requiring you to provide an e-Invoice as a supporting document.

4. What if I need an e-Invoice now?

The government has not implemented the need to have e-Invoice as supporting document for tax deduction. All taxpayers can continue to claim tax deductions or personal tax relief using existing documentation (normal bill, receipt, or invoice) until such time the legislation has been amended.

You can start requesting e-Invoices from our e-Invoice portal on 1 July 2025.

5. How do I register for a CelcomDigi e-Invoice portal account?

Step 1: Visit https://einvoice.celcomdigi.com

Step 2: Provide the following information to register:

  • Identification number
  • Full name (as per NRIC)
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN). You can retrieve your TIN number from the MyTax Portal at https://mytax.hasil.gov.my/
  • SST number (for businesses only)

Step 3: For postpaid and fibre accounts, make sure to subscribe to e-Invoicing using your postpaid or service account number to automatically receive your monthly e-Invoice via email.

Step 4: Click 'Register'

Step 5: A verification email will be sent to your registered email address. Once verified, registration is complete!

6. Where can I get my Tax Identification Number (TIN)?

You can retrieve your TIN from MyTax Portal at https://mytax.hasil.gov.my/.

7. Why do I need to give my TIN?

Providing your TIN helps ensure your e-Invoice is successfully submitted to LHDN and correctly linked to your tax profile in the MyInvois Portal. This information is used strictly for e-Invoice processing in line with LHDN requirements.

8. Where can I find my postpaid or service account number?

You may refer to your monthly CelcomDigi bill.

9. How can I get my e-Invoice?

Starting from 1 July 2025, you can get your e-Invoice by following the instructions below:

  • For postpaid and fibre customers:
  • Ensure you are registered to our e-Invoice portal at https://einvoice.celcomdigi.com and have subscribed to e-Invoice with your CelcomDigi account or service number.
  • Once subscribed, your e-Invoice for the current and subsequent months will be delivered to your registered email within 3 days after your bill is processed.

  • For prepaid customers and other on-demand transactions (e.g., device bundles, reload cards, internet, etc.):
  • Upon purchase, register with our e-Invoice portal at https://einvoice.celcomdigi.com/login. If you already have an account, log in to the portal.
  • In our e-Invoice portal, submit an on-demand request based on the invoice or receipt number of your purchase or transaction.
  • Your e-Invoice will be sent to your registered email within 24 hours.

10. What are the differences between e-Invoices and CelcomDigi e-Bills or paper bills?

e-Invoice requires verification from IRBM via a QR code inserted on the e-Invoice shared with customers.

CelcomDigi e-Bills or paper bills are the existing monthly bills that you receive for your postpaid or fibre subscription. The bill displays your CelcomDigi account details, subscription or value-added services, duration of charges, discounts, and the total amount of your service.

11. Will e-Invoice replace CelcomDigi monthly bills?

The introduction of e-Invoice does not affect the current billing process. You will continue to receive a copy of your regular bills and make payments on your existing bills as usual.

In addition to the existing bill, you will receive an e-Invoice document featuring IRBM’s QR code. This means you will receive two documents: your usual bill and the new e-Invoice.

You can start requesting e-Invoices from our e-Invoice portal on 1 July 2025.

12. Why does my e-Invoice amount differ from my normal CelcomDigi postpaid or fibre bill?

Your CelcomDigi bill shows you the exact amount you need to pay. It includes everything: all CelcomDigi services, taxes, other charges (such as third-party content you purchased through us), and any past overpayments or underpayments. This final amount is also rounded.

The e-Invoice, however, is a document for tax purposes (IRBM). It only shows charges for services directly from CelcomDigi. It does not include third-party charges (even if paid via CelcomDigi) or any outstanding balances or credits from previous bills. This amount is also not rounded.

In short, your CelcomDigi bill is your complete bill for payment, while the e-Invoice is a simplified version meant solely for tax compliance.

15. I have misplaced my CelcomDigi e-Invoice. How can I get a copy of it?

You can:

  • Check your email inbox. e-Invoices from CelcomDigi will be sent from CelcomDigi_E-Invoice_DoNotReply@einvoice.celcomdigi.com.
  • If you still have the previous receipt or bill statement number used for the e-Invoice request, you can retrieve the past e-Invoice from our e-Invoice portal.
  • Alternatively, you can search for your e-Invoice via the MyGov e-Invoice portal: MyInvois Portal.

16. Why am I not able to request an e-Invoice for my on-demand purchases or monthly bills from previous months?

As per IRBM guidelines, consumers can request e-Invoices up until the 3rd calendar day of the following month.

For example, if you received your monthly bill or made an on-demand purchase on 18 November 2025, you can submit a request for an e-Invoice until 3 December 2025 only. If a request is made after this period, the e-Invoice will not be available.

17. How will I receive the e-Invoice?

The e-Invoice will be sent to the email address you provided in the CelcomDigi e-Invoice request form. Alternatively, you can log in to the myInvois Portal to retrieve your e-Invoice document.

18. Why can’t I request for e-Invoice?

It could be due to:

  • Youentered an invalid receipt or invoice number. Please try again with the correct number.
  • You have already requested an e-Invoice with the same receipt or invoice number. Only one request is allowed per receipt or invoice.
  • The e-Invoice requested is not issued by CelcomDigi. Please refer to the platform or store where the purchase was made.
  • The e-Invoice request was made after the cut-off date (3rd of every month). For example, if you made an on-demand purchase on 18 November 2025, you could only request the e-Invoice from 19 November 2025 until 3 December 2025.

19. I accidentally keyed in the wrong information when I requested my e-Invoice. Can I submit another request to regenerate the e-Invoice with the correct information?

No. Once the e-Invoice is generated, it can no longer be edited. Additionally, only one request is allowed per receipt or invoice.

20. How long will e-Invoices be available in the CelcomDigi e-Invoice portal?

e-Invoices will be stored in the CelcomDigi e-Invoice portal for 18 months. You are highly encouraged to download and save copies for your records.

You can also search for your e-Invoice on the MyGov e-Invoice portal: MyInvois Portal.
