Please ensure you meet all the following criteria to enjoy 5G seamlessly:
1. Be within the 5G coverage area
Check 5G coverage area here.
2. Have a 5G compatible phone
All devices displayed on the CelcomDigi website today are 5G-enabled. If you have an older device, check its 5G compatibility here.
3. Activate 5G network setting on your phone
Android
The 5G network setting should be activated on your phone by default. However, if it isn't, you can manually activate the 5G network by following the steps below. Please note that these steps may vary depending on your device's brand and model:
- Settings > Connection > Mobile Network > Network Mode > Switch to preferred network setting.
iOS
To use the 5G connection on your iPhone 12 model or later, you will need to update to iOS 16.2 or newer and carrier version 53.1 or newer. Then, manually activate the 5G network setting. Please follow the steps below:
- Update iOS: Settings > General > Software Update and update to the latest iOS version.
- Update Carrier: Settings > General > About and if prompted, follow the steps to update to the latest carrier settings.
- Activate 5G network setting: Setting > Mobile Service > Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data > Switch to preferred network setting.
4. Have a compatible SIM
If your SIM card can access 4G networks, it can also support 5G. Should you need to upgrade your SIM, kindly visit the nearest Celcom bluecube or Digi Store to upgrade your SIM.
