4. What does “Unlimited Internet” mean and how does it work?

Upon activation, you’ll receive a daily high-speed internet quota. Once fully utilised, enjoy Unlimited Internet at reduced speed for the rest of the day.

5. When does my daily high-speed for Unlimited pass quota refresh?

The daily high-speed quota refreshes daily at 11:59 PM Malaysia Time.

6. What happens if I run out of my high-speed quota?

  • Unlimited Roaming Pass: Your speed will be reduced to 1Mbps. To restore high-speed internet, purchase a 5GB roaming add-on for RM10, valid for 24 hours.
  • 10-Day Roaming Pass: Data roaming will be blocked once the quota is fully utilised. To continue using data roaming, purchase a new 10-Day Roaming Pass.

7. How do I subscribe to a Roaming Pass?

You can purchase your roaming pass via the CelcomDigi app, and you can pre-book your pass up to 14 days before your trip!

Step 1: Open you CelcomDigi App

Step 2: Choose “Roaming” on your homepage

Step 3: Select your roaming destination

Step 4: Choose the pass that best suits your travel needs

Step 5: Choose “Activate now” or choose your date

Step 6: Confirm your purchase and wait for the confirmation sms

Note: Internet access is required to subscribe via the CelcomDigi app. Alternatively, dial *800# after arriving at your destination. Pre-booking is not available via *800#.

8. How do I know if my roaming pass is activated?

You will receive a successful SMS notification sent to your mobile number. Alternatively, you can verify the status of your roaming pass, through CelcomDigi app. Roaming passes that are purchased for immediate use will be activated instantly.

If you have pre-booked roaming pass, the activation window is from 12 A.M. to 2 A.M. (Malaysia time) on the chosen date. A confirmation SMS will be sent once your roaming pass is activated.

9. When should I subscribe to a Roaming Pass?

You may subscribe before travelling or when you arrive at your destination. To ensure connectivity upon arrival, we recommend subscribing before departure.

10. Where can I check my pre-booked roaming passes, and can I cancel them?

You can check your pre-booked pass on the CelcomDigi app homepage under the “Reminder” section.

To cancel, select the pre-booked pass details on the same homepage and tap “Cancel Pass”. You’ll receive an SMS confirmation once the cancellation is successful.

11. How do I track my pass status, and what happens after my roaming pass expires? Can I still browse the internet?

If data usage is detected after your pass expires or without an active pass, a Daily Roaming Pass will be automatically activated at RM39/day, with up to 2GB of high-speed internet.

Monitor your usage and pass expiry in the CelcomDigi app under “Usage”. You’ll receive reminders 3 hours before and upon expiry. To avoid unnecessary charges, turn off data roaming in your mobile phone before the end of the validity period. Read how here.

12. My pass is almost expired; can I buy the same roaming pass again or any other roaming passes?

Yes, you can purchase a different roaming pass while your current pass is active. To purchase the same pass, you may pre-book it for activation between 12 AM and 2 AM (Malaysia time) on your selected date or wait until your current pass expires to repurchase it.

13. I am travelling to more than one country. Can I use the same roaming pass during its validity period?

Yes, all our roaming passes are multi-destination passes. You can use the same pass across multiple eligible destinations within its validity period.

Example: If you purchase a 7-Day Asia Pass, you can use it across all 12 eligible destinations listed above. However, the pass cannot be used outside these destinations, such as the United Kingdom or Saudi Arabia. If data usage is detected in a non-eligible country, a Daily Roaming Pass will be automatically activated at RM39/day.

Please check your destination’s coverage before purchasing a roaming pass.

14. I wrongly buy my Roam pass. Can I cancel it?

Once a roaming pass is activated, it cannot be cancelled. Please review your selected destination, pass type, and activation date carefully before confirming your purchase. You’ll be asked to confirm your selection to help prevent errors.

15. Can I use my roaming pass while travelling on a flight?

Yes! All our roaming passes include in-flight data roaming, so you can stay connected while flying. However, in-flight connectivity is only available on aircraft equipped with the AeroMobile network. Please check your airline’s coverage before use.

You can use your phone as you would on the ground, subject to the airline’s rules and permitted usage.

16. How does in-flight roaming work? Do I need to purchase an additional roaming pass?

No additional pass is required if you already have an active roaming pass, as in-flight data roaming is included. Data usage will be deducted from your active pass quota.

If you don’t have an active roaming pass and in-flight data usage is detected, a Daily Roaming Pass (1GB) will be automatically activated at RM39.

17. How do I know if In-flight Roaming is available on my flight?

In-flight Roaming availability depends on your airline and aircraft. Please listen for announcements from the cabin crew or check your airline’s website before your flight to see if AeroMobile is available.

18. My high-speed quota runs out so quickly! Why does this happen, and how can I optimise my usage?

Before travelling, turn off automatic app updates and photo/video backups, especially iCloud sync, to save your roaming data. Enable Low Data Mode (iOS) or Data Saver (Android) to reduce background data usage. Below is the step to enable data saver:

iPhone (IOS)
Android phone
Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data Options > Data Mode > Low Data Mode
Data Saver settings vary by device. Check your device brand’s guide for instructions.

19. What should I do if my roaming data is not working?

Please check your device settings to ensure Data Roaming is turned on and restart your device. If issue persist, refer to troubleshooting guide here or contact 24-hour support at *125# or WhatsApp +6016-333 1111.
