Voice Over LTE (VoLTE)

1. What is VoLTE?

VoLTE is Voice over Long-Term Evolution.

 

2. What are the benefits of VoLTE?

With VoLTE, you will experience:

  • High definition (HD) call quality
  • Faster call setup connectivity
  • Seamless switching between 'voice' and 'video' calls
  • Simultaneous 'voice' and 'data' usage without interruptions

 

3. Will I be charged for VoLTE?

There are no additional charges for VoLTE. It will utilise the voice minutes in your current plan.

 

4. Will VoLTE consume my mobile data allocation?

No, VoLTE will not consume your mobile data allocation.

 

5. Who is eligible to use VoLTE?

VoLTE is a mobile device and network dependent. Mobile devices need to be updated with the latest software version and within 4G coverage. All latest mobile devices sold via their official manufacturer stores in Malaysia are enabled with VoLTE. Alternatively, check with your phone manufacturer to confirm VoLTE compatibility.

 

6. How do I enable VoLTE on my mobile device?

If your mobile device is updated to the latest software version, VoLTE will be automatically activated. If it's not, you can also manually activate it as below:

  • iOS: Go to 'Settings' > select 'Mobile Data' > select 'Mobile Data Options' > select 'Voice & Data' > Select '4G' > switch on 'VoLTE' slider.
  • Android: Go to 'Settings' > select 'Connections' > select 'Mobile Networks' > switch on 'VoLTE calls' slider.


Note: May differ according to your mobile device model. If you’d like to switch off VoLTE, this can be achieved with the same steps above.

 

7. Is VoLTE available when I am roaming?

While you're roaming, VoLTE availability will depend on the network of Yoodo (by CelcomDigi) roaming partners in their respective countries.

 

8. How do I know if VoLTE has already been activated for my Yoodo (by CelcomDigi) line?

  • iOS: You will see a '4G' icon on the top left of your mobile screen while making or receiving calls.
  • Android: You will see a 'VoLTE' on the top right of your mobile screen while making or receiving calls.


9. Will I need to change my SIM card to enjoy VoLTE?

No, you do not have to change your sim card. VoLTE is not SIM card dependent.


10. When can I start to enjoy VoLTE?

Eligible customers were upgraded starting from 23rd December 2021.


11. I just switched to a VoLTE supported mobile device, when can I start enjoying VoLTE?

If you just switched to a VoLTE supported device (or just activated a Yoodo (by CelcomDigi) line on a VoLTE supported mobile device), you will be able to start enjoying VoLTE within the next 48 hours.
