Why is my Internet speed slow when connected to CelcomDigi Fibre?
Modified on Tue, 20 Aug at 3:32 PM
Several factors may be causing your fibre Internet speed to slow down:
1. Device speed capability
Older devices (2.4GHz) such as PCs, phones, laptops, and Wi-Fi service devices may not support high-speed Internet even if you’re subscribed to a high-speed Wi-Fi service.
For these devices, consider using a wired connection as it can provide a more stable and faster Internet experience.
2. Wi-Fi signal strength
The strength of your Wi-Fi signal can be affected by the distance from the router and physical obstacles like walls and floors.
If you have a large house or your Wi-Fi signal doesn’t extend far enough, consider subscribing to mesh node to strengthen and expand your coverage.
For better connection and stability:
- Place the router in an open space.
- Avoid placing the router in a closed area such as a cabinet.
- Keep it away from electronic devices such as TVs, radios, microwaves, refrigerators, and other electronic devices.
- Do not stack your modem and router together as the heat may affect their performance.
3. Number of connected devices
If multiple devices are connected and being used for data-intensive activities like streaming, gaming, or video conferencing, it can slow down your Internet speed.
