1. What is CelcomDigi Trade-In?
CelcomDigi Trade-In is a program that allows you to conveniently trade in your old smartphones by:
- Walking into any CelcomDigi store nationwide, or
- Requesting a device pick-up online via the CelcomDigi Trade-In webpage (subject to coverage by our partner, CompAsia).
You can also choose how you’d like to receive your trade-in value:
- Credit to your CelcomDigi Postpaid bill and enjoy an extra RM100, or
- Receive the amount directly into your bank account.
2. How can I enjoy the extra RM100 on my trade-in value?
Simply select “Credit to Postpaid Bill” in the CelcomDigi Trade-In app to get an additional RM100 on top of your trade-in value.
Example: If your device is valued at RM800 and you credit it to your Postpaid bill, you’ll receive an extra RM100, making your total trade-in value RM900.
3. What do I need to do before trading in my device?
Step 1: Get a trade-in quotation
Download the CelcomDigi Trade-In app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Run a self-diagnosis on your device to get an estimated trade-in value.
Step 2: Back up all personal data and reset
Back up all personal data and perform a factory reset before handing in your device.
Step 3: Trade in your device
- In-store: Once the above steps are complete, visit your nearest CelcomDigi store to proceed with the trade-in. Our store frontliners will validate your device diagnostic and confirm the final trade-in value. Once agreed, they will help you to complete the transaction.
- Via rider: Our trained riders from CompAsia will perform the same assessment on your device. They will also validate your device diagnostic and confirm the final trade-in value. Once agreed, they will help you to complete the transaction.
4. How will I receive payment for my trade-in device?
Once your device is handed over and validated, your payment will be:
Credited to your next CelcomDigi Postpaid bill within 60 days, or
Transferred to your bank account within 7 working days.
5. How many devices can I trade in with CelcomDigi?
You can trade in up to 2 devices per mobile number per month, with a maximum of 10 devices per mobile number per year.
6. What does it mean if the IMEI check fails?
If the IMEI check fails, it means that your device cannot be accepted for trade-in as it has been flagged in the IMEI database. Common reasons include the device being reported as lost or stolen, or being linked to outstanding financial or fraudulent activity.
7. The device health check/diagnostic seems inaccurate — how can I fix this?
The device health check runs automatically within the app, using built-in diagnostics to measure your phone’s performance. This process ensures accuracy and minimises manual errors. If you believe the results are inaccurate, please ensure you’ve granted all required permissions to the app (e.g., WiFi, GPS, camera).
