1. What makes the new WiFi 7 router so unique?

The new WiFi 7 is the latest evolution in wireless connectivity, designed to deliver faster speeds, greater network capacity, and more reliable performance compared to previous WiFi standards such as WiFi 6. It provides a more advanced and efficient way for multiple devices to stay connected at the same time. To fully experience its enhanced capabilities, your devices must also support WiFi 7 technology.


2. I’m interested! Do I have to pay for this new WiFi 7 router, or is it provided free of charge?

All new CelcomDigi Fibre customers who sign up for CelcomDigi Fibre 300Mbps plan and above will be given a new WiFi 7 router for free.


3. How do new customers sign up?

To become a new CelcomDigi Fibre customer, you can go to any CelcomDigi Store or authorized fibre agent to sign up for CelcomDigi Fibre. The new WiFi 7 router will be installed during fibre installation.


4. This new WiFi 7 router comes with EasyMesh technology. Can I add on the Mesh node?

Yes, you can easily pair it to form a whole-home Wi-Fi 7 mesh network with zero dead zones using our Mesh Node. Our Mesh Node is given for free for new sign-ups of CelcomDigi Fibre 500Mbps plans and above only. The Mesh Node will be installed during fibre installation.


5. I’m an existing CelcomDigi Fibre customer. Can I request to change to this new WiFi 7 router if I upgrade my plan?

This offer is only available to new CelcomDigi Fibre customers.


6. I’m an existing CelcomDigi Fibre 500Mbps plan (and above) customer. Can I claim my free Mesh Node now?

Currently, this offer is only available to new CelcomDigi Fibre customers.


7. Is there a contract period for the new WiFi 7 router?

Yes, there will be a 24-month contract period according to the fibre plan subscribed.


8. Can I get a replacement if my WiFi 7 router is faulty or not working properly?

Yes, we can assist you with a router replacement based on your contract status.

  • If you are still within your contract period, you are eligible for a free router replacement.
  • If your contract has ended, you can either:
    a) Recontract for 12 months to get a free replacement, or
    b) Purchase a new router for RM300 without any contract. The amount will be charged to your bill.


However, in cases where the router is faulty due to customer negligence, an RM300 charge will still apply, regardless of contract status.


9. Can I use a third-party mesh system with my CelcomDigi TP-Link router?

Yes, the CelcomDigi TP-Link router supports EasyMesh technology. You can pair it with other TP-Link routers that also support EasyMesh, such as models from the Archer series, to create a seamless mesh network.


However, please note that TP-Link Deco series routers use a different mesh protocol and are not compatible with the CelcomDigi TP-Link router.


10. Most of the devices in my home are older-generation devices such as smartphones, TVs, and gaming consoles that support WiFi 6 and below. Will they still work with the new WiFi 7 router?

Yes, your existing or older devices will continue to connect and work with the new WiFi 7 router. WiFi 7 routers are backward compatible with earlier WiFi standards. Devices that support WiFi 7 will be able to enjoy the full benefits of the latest technology, such as faster speeds, lower latency, and improved overall performance.


11. How is WiFi 7 different from WiFi 6?

WiFi 7 introduces enhanced wireless technology designed to deliver faster speeds, lower latency, and a smoother overall connectivity experience compared to WiFi 6. Key improvements include:

  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO): Allows devices to connect across multiple frequency bands simultaneously for improved speed, reduced lag, and more stable performance.
  • Enhanced network efficiency: Improves wireless backhaul performance to support stronger coverage, better reliability, and a more consistent connection experience across the home.
  • Optimised for modern usage: Better supports high-bandwidth activities such as 4K/8K streaming, online gaming, video calls, and smart home devices running at the same time.


12. Is there a warranty for the new WiFi 7 router?

The WiFi 7 router comes with a 24-month warranty. The warranty will be voided upon expiry of the CelcomDigi Fibre contract or due to any damage to the router caused by misuse/negligence from the customer.


13. What is not covered in the warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Failure or damage caused by improper use, carelessness, or accidents.
  • Failure or damage caused by unjustifiable repair or modification.


14. Do I need to return the new WiFi 7 router?

You may keep the device regardless of early termination or contract expiration.
