Fake Celebrity Endorsement Scam

Can you be certain that a celebrity or influencer genuinely supports that product or program? Scammers exploit the popularity of celebrities to promote deceptive scheme, even utilizing manipulated deepfake video and audio to make it appear authentic.

These deceptive materials, widely circulated on social media platforms and scammers use celebrity names and their image to get you to click on fake links, potentially downloading malware to your device with the intention to steal your sensitive information and money. Be vigilant and skeptical before falling for such deceptive tactics.

Things to keep in mind:

• Check out that celebrity or influencer testimonial. Search online using their name, the name of the company or product, and words like “scam” or “fake.” See what others are saying.
