FAQ: CelcomDigi Fibre Broadband Plans

Modified on Tue, 28 Jan at 4:26 PM

1. I already have fibre Internet at home and want to switch to CelcomDigi Fibre. What will happen to my modem?

You may continue to use your existing modem with CelcomDigi Fibre. If it’s not functioning, a replacement modem will be provided.

2. If I change or upgrade my CelcomDigi Fibre plan, will I receive a new router?

If you are upgrading to a 1Gbps plan or higher, a new premium WiFi router designed for smoother, more stable connections with lower latency will be provided.

If you are changing to any plan that is below 1Gbps, a new router will not be provided as your current router is enough to support your new plan’s speed.

3. Does CelcomDigi Fibre include/offer VOBB (Voice Over Broadband) services?

CelcomDigi does not offer VOBB.

4. What is the difference between a wired connection and WiFi on CelcomDigi Fibre?

  • A wired connection uses a LAN/Ethernet cable to directly connect your device to the router delivering faster and more stable Internet connection and speed with minimal interference.
  • WiFi, on the other hand, provides wireless connectivity, allowing multiple devices to connect without cables. WiFi connection and speed is influenced by your surroundings, such as the thickness of your walls, overlapping signals, and even interference from other home devices may affect the stability of your WiFi connection or speed of Internet.
  • For best performance, especially for gaming or large file transfers, a wired connection is recommended.
